Was born in 1940 in Kraków. He graduated the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Kraków, in the Painting Studio of Prof. Emil Krcha - with the Diploma in 1963. In 1963 he started an independent artistic and tutorial work. He was an educator in an orphanage, an art teacher in a primary and in a high school. For many years he worked as an educator in the Kraków High School of Fine Arts. In the years1972-1980 he was an Associate Professor of the State School of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where he run his own Painting Studio. In 1981 Rodziński started his work in the Kraków ASP. In 1989 he received the title of the Professor. In the years 1996-2002 he was the Rector of the Kraków ASP; in the years 1999-2002 he was a chairman of the Conference of Rectors of the Schools of Fine Arts.
In the 80`s he was a lecturer at the Pontifical University of John Paul II, from 1985 to 2009 he cooperated with the Institute of Pedagogy at the Jagiellonian University. He is a real member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU) and the Scientific Association of Sandomierz. In the years 1991-1992 Rodziński was a member of the Council of Culture at the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland. He is the Honoris Causa Doctor of Wrocław and Katowice ASP. In 2010 Rodziński received the title of the Honorary Professor of the Kraków ASP.
In 1977 he became the signatory of the Declaration of the Society of Scientific Courses (the socalled Flying University). In the years 1981-1989 Stanisław Rodziński was a participant of the independent culture movement (organizational work, publication in the underground press). Since the 70`s till 1983 (i.e. till the liquidation of the ZPAP by the martial law authorities) he worked in the ZPAP on voluntary basis, without remuneration. In the years 1973-1983 he was the editor-in-chief of the bulletin of the Artistic Council of the ZPAP.
Since 1968 he has been writing as a publicist and an essayist, on art. He is the associate publicist in „Tygodnik Powszechny", „Znak", „Więź"; he publishes inter alia in „Dziennik Polski", „Projekt", „Etos", „Kultura Paryska." Between 1999 and 2012 they published five books with his publications (Sztuka na co dzień i od święta; Obrazy czasu; Mój szkicownik; Dzieła, czasy, ludzie; Autoportret malarza).
Since 1963 Stanisław Rodziński has participated in about one hundred solo exhibitions, and in over two hundred collective exhibitions - in Poland and abroad. His works are in museum collections in Poland and abroad, as well as in private collections.
Rodziński was awarded numerous awards and honourable mentions, inter alia: the Golden Medal of TPSP, the Golden Badge of ZPAP, the Award of the City of Kraków, the Award of the Museum of the Warsaw Archdiocese, the Scholarship of the Institute of John Paul II in Rome, the Award of the Jurzykowski Foundation in New York, the Award of the Kraków Voivode for painting, educational and publishing work, the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Medal of the Commission of National Education, the Award of Minister of Culture and National Heritage for painting and essay writing, the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis, the Award of Witold Wojtkiewicz awarded by the ZPAP Kraków District, the Special Honourable Mention TOTUS, the Award of the Kazimierz Ostrowski – ZPAP Gdańsk.
